On Monday, 25th November, Professor Yonghua Song, the Rector of the University of Macau, warmly welcomed Professor Fatima Chimarizeni Papelo from Joaquim Chissano University. The meeting was also attended by Professor Rui Martins, Vice-Rector for Global Affairs at the University of Macau. During the meeting, Professor Yonghua emphasized the University of Macau’s commitment to strengthening cooperation in higher education with Portuguese-speaking countries, particularly Mozambique.
Professor Fatima expressed her positive views on the significance of the ongoing academic program for the internationalization of Joaquim Chissano University and for further institutional collaboration in research and learning. Both the Rector and Vice-Rector highlighted the importance of formalizing cooperation with Joaquim Chissano University at the Master’s and Doctorate levels.
Professor Fatima has been actively involved in the Young Visiting Scholar Programme conducted by the Institute of Global and Public Affairs within the Faculty of Social Sciences. This program aims to foster academic exchange and collaboration, enhancing the research and learning experiences of scholars from both institutions in the context of Portuguese-speaking Countires. The meeting underscored the mutual benefits of such international partnerships and the shared commitment to advancing higher education and research excellence.
